A 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl were killed in a motorcycle crash early Thursday morning near Wright Patman Lake.

A 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old girl were killed in a motorcycle crash early Thursday morning near Wright Patman Lake.

The Texas Department of Public Safety says the crash happened around 1:30 a.m. on Corps Road 2. Witnesses reported the motorcycle, a 2008 Suzuki, was traveling at a high rate of speed before it left the road and struck a guardrail.

Both the driver, 19 year old Kyron Richardson, and his passenger, 16 year old Caitlyn Sponholz of Queen City, were thrown from the bike and pronounced dead at the scene. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
