The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department is warning residents about a new scam targeting the community. Scammers are pretending to be Police Chief Ed Chattaway through phone calls, texts, and social media messages.

Authorities say these imposters try to intimidate people into sending money or giving out personal information. Police remind the public that law enforcement will never demand payment, gift cards, or financial details to settle legal issues.

If you receive a suspicious message or call, don’t respond. Instead, report it to TAPD right away.
