A Texarkana man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for possessing firearms in furtherance of drug trafficking.
Kenneth Deantrious Collins was sentenced Wednesday in federal court in Texarkana. According to court records, law enforcement found multiple firearms, ammunition, and illegal drugs during a search of his home in August 2024.
Collins pleaded guilty to a weapons charge and admitted he possessed firearms to protect drugs and proceeds from drug sales. As part of a plea agreement, additional drug and firearm charges were dismissed.
After serving his prison sentence, Collins will also be subject to five years of supervised release.
