A Texarkana man accused of forcing the mother of his child into a vehicle and leading police on a high-speed chase from Ashdown into Bowie County is now facing felony charges.
A Texarkana man accused of forcing the mother of his child into a vehicle and leading police on a high-speed chase from Ashdown into Bowie County is now facing felony charges.
According to a probable cause affidavit, 30-year-old Martreveus “Trey” Jackson was seen shoving a woman into a truck outside a high school game last year. An off-duty Ashdown detective alerted a Little River County deputy, who tried to intervene, but Jackson allegedly drove off with the woman, his 8-year-old son, and his mother inside.
Officers pursued the truck at speeds up to 110 miles per hour before ending the chase for public safety. The woman later told police Jackson dropped her off back at her car.
Jackson appeared in court Nov. 4 and was released on a $25,000 bond. He faces charges of false imprisonment, child endangerment, and fleeing. If convicted, he could face several years in prison and fines up to $10,000.
