A Texarkana man is facing a child endangerment charge after his 4-year-old daughter was found wandering alone in a high-traffic area in mid-December.
Police say the child was discovered around 10:30 the morning of December 17 in a parking lot along New Boston Road, wearing only socks, a T-shirt, and a diaper. The child told bystanders she was cold. At the time, temperatures were in the low 50s, it was raining, and her feet were wet.
Investigators say the child’s father, 33-year-old Aladdin Carter, told them he had fallen asleep before the child left the home. Carter was later arrested and charged with child endangerment. He remains in the Bowie County jail on a 75-thousand-dollar bond.
