A Texarkana man is in custody after a Friday afternoon shooting in Genoa left one man dead, according to the Miller County Sheriff’s Office.
A Texarkana man is in custody after a Friday afternoon shooting in Genoa left one man dead, according to the Miller County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies responded to reports of shots fired on Coca Cola Lake Road around 1:30 p.m. Friday and found Clay Walker suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. Deputies performed life-saving measures until Pafford EMS arrived, but Walker later died from his injuries.
Investigators identified the suspect as Joseph Richardson of Texarkana, who fled the scene. Deputies later located the suspect vehicle through dash camera footage, and Richardson was arrested by the Texas Department of Public Safety. He is being held in Bowie County awaiting extradition to Miller County.
