Texarkana College has announced a new scholarship program called Texarkana Promise, aimed at making college more affordable for local students.
The scholarship covers all tuition costs after other financial aid is applied and is available to eligible high school students in dual-enrollment programs, as well as students pursuing a degree or credential at Texarkana College.
The program also allows students to transfer tuition-free to Texas A&M–Texarkana through a new commitment partnership.
College leaders say the program is designed to keep local talent in the region and strengthen the workforce.
The scholarship does not cover books or fees and is funded by the Pioneer Foundation and the Texarkana College Foundation.
