Texarkana Regional Airport Authority Executive Director Paul Mehrlich will step down April 3 after accepting a leadership role at another airport.
Mehrlich has led the airport for more than six years, overseeing major improvements and guiding operations through the COVID-19 pandemic. During his time, the airport completed the Jim E. Yates Terminal, expanded regional partnerships, and helped launch the Aviation Maintenance Technician program at Texarkana College.
Airport Board Chairman David Potter thanked Mehrlich for his service, saying his leadership helped move the airport forward. The board has named Operations Manager Russell Henderson as interim executive director while a search begins for a permanent replacement.
Mehrlich will assist during the transition. The airport is also planning future projects, including runway upgrades and an airshow set for June 27.
