The Texarkana Arkansas School District is enforcing a new state law, SB142—also known as the “Bell to Bell, No Cell” Act—which bans student use or possession of personal electronic devices during the school day.
The law covers cell phones, smartwatches, earbuds, and more—from the time students arrive on campus until dismissal, including lunch and recess. Devices must be off and stored out of sight.
Exceptions are limited to emergencies, school-issued devices, medical needs, and certain school activities. TASD already uses Yondr pouches at middle and high schools to help enforce the rule.
