Springdale Man Jailed on Forgery Charge in Nash Check Theft

A Springdale, Arkansas man is being held in the Bowie County jail after allegedly stealing and cashing a check for more than nine thousand dollars from a Nash business.

A Springdale, Arkansas man is being held in the Bowie County jail after allegedly stealing and cashing a check for more than nine thousand dollars from a Nash business.

Court records say 42-year-old David Dewayne Gwartney took a check from Electrique Corp.’s mailbox in January 2024 and altered the payee before cashing it at a Texarkana bank. Gwartney was arrested on forgery charges and remains jailed on a 20-thousand-dollar bond.
