TxDOT is teaming up with Texas Game Wardens to promote safety during the busy holiday weekend. Game wardens will patrol lakes and rivers, checking boaters for required safety equipment.

Meanwhile, TxDOT is reminding drivers to plan ahead and arrange a sober ride if alcohol is involved.

Officials say increased enforcement will be in place throughout the holiday weekend, urging everyone to stay safe on the water and behind the wheel.
