The Miller County Extension Service has set up a Christmas tree to kick off a new 4-H community project called “Santas for Seniors.” The program lets residents adopt a senior citizen by choosing a gift tag from the tree.
Tag selection is going on now, and gifts are due back by December 17. Organizers say the effort teaches youth the importance of giving back, especially to seniors who may not have family nearby.
The tree is located at the Miller County Extension Office at 1007 Jefferson Avenue in Texarkana, Arkansas.
