A Texarkana man is facing a felony charge after allegedly assaulting a woman who was eight months pregnant with his child.
Police say 22-year-old Ladarrious Kevon Whitaker pushed the woman and bit her ear during an altercation on June 4 inside Ivan Smith Furniture on Walton Drive. The woman told officers she had recently ended their relationship due to Whitaker’s aggressive behavior and stopped at the store because she felt unsafe after picking him up.
Store surveillance reportedly captured the assault. Whitaker was arrested and later released on a $15,000 bond. If convicted, he faces 2 to 10 years in prison. The case is assigned to Judge John Tidwell.
