Court records show 34-year-old Elissia Thomas, also known as Elissia Lewis, was pulled over on Interstate 30 near Texarkana on July 17. A state trooper became suspicious after hearing her story about traveling to Little Rock for a funeral and noticing inconsistencies.
A drug-sniffing dog alerted officers, and investigators found bundles of cocaine in the vehicle’s quarter panels and seats. Thomas was arrested and initially held on $500,000 bond. She appeared in federal court Monday in Texarkana and remains in custody.
