A former Bowie County correctional officer has been charged after authorities say she tried to bring synthetic marijuana into the downtown Texarkana jail annex.

A former Bowie County correctional officer has been charged after authorities say she tried to bring synthetic marijuana into the downtown Texarkana jail annex.

According to court documents, 29-year-old Madison Estelle Jones was arrested Friday after officers allegedly found 385 grams of suspected K2 during a routine pat down. Investigators say Jones claimed inmates threatened to release intimate photos of her and harm her if she refused to bring in the contraband.

Jones faces charges of delivery of a controlled substance and bringing a prohibited item into a correctional facility. She has been released on $60,000 bond.
