Energy Exploration Technologies, known as EnergyX, is bringing a new lithium project to Hooks, Texas. The company is investing $20 million to open its 22,000-square-foot Project Lonestar Lithium Demonstration Plant at TexAmericas Center.
The facility, located in a repurposed defense site, will focus on testing and research as part of efforts to strengthen the U.S. battery supply chain. Officials say the project will create more than 40 skilled jobs, with potential for future expansion into a full-scale plant.
EnergyX, founded in 2018 and based in Austin, owns nearly 50,000 acres of lithium brine resources across Texas and Arkansas.
