Fire officials urge residents to check local restrictions before burning and to avoid unnecessary outdoor fires. They also warn that cigarettes and trailer chains can create sparks.
With temperatures approaching or exceeding 100 degrees in some areas, officials say even a small spark can quickly lead to a wildfire.
