Texarkana, Texas, police arrested a 63-year-old man after a 68-year-old victim was found bloody and injured on a porch earlier this month.
Texarkana, Texas, police arrested a 63-year-old man after a 68-year-old victim was found bloody and injured on a porch earlier this month.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Larry Don Nolen is accused of beating the man in the head with what the victim described as a “white rod,” possibly a household item like a broomstick.
Officers were called to a home on West 9th Street on November 6. The victim told police Nolen, who had been staying with him about a month, attacked him inside the house. The man escaped to a neighbor’s home, where 911 was called.
Nolen was arrested nearby. He reportedly claimed he assaulted the man because he felt threatened.
If convicted of aggravated assault, he faces up to 20 years in prison.
