Texarkana Police say an arrest has been made in the shooting death of 21-year-old Jaylen Betts.
Over the weekend, 24-year-old Benjamin Brem was taken into custody in Houston on multiple Texarkana warrants. He’s accused of firing more than 50 shots into a home on Carroll Street just after midnight on May 10th, killing Betts and injuring a 52-year-old man.
Texarkana Detective Casey Schmidt worked with Houston officers to make the arrest. The injured man survived.
Brem is expected to be returned to Texarkana in the coming days. He faces charges including Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Evading Arrest.
