Officers on leave after shooting man wielding machete

Two Shreveport officers have been placed on administrative leave after an officer-involved shooting.

The officers were involved in the shooting on August 25 that began as a disorderly person report on Kings Highway.  The officers found the suspect, Bradley Schneider, holding a machete.

The officers managed to talk Schneider into putting the weapon down, but the situation quickly escalated when he picked the blade back up and charged the officers.  Schneider was shot three times in the lower body.

The officers will remain on leave until an investigation is completed.
